Formato: PDF
The Diffie-Hellman algorithm is one of the most common protocols used in networking today. An understanding of its underlying protocols and processes helps a great deal when trouble-shooting a system. This white paper takes a simple approach to explaining the DH process.
Distributed Managed IP Telephony Services for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/cdccont_0900aecd801ba5cc.pdf
Formato: PDF
To enable service providers to meet the needs of those customers who want to out-task IP telephony, Cisco Systems has developed the Service Provider Business Voice Solution (BVS). The BVS approach can aptly be described as distributed managed IP Telephony, a model that supports a range of end-customer options as described by Ovum. The solution's major voice components, such as Cisco CallManager Express, Cisco CallManager, and the Cisco BTS 10200 Softswitch, are integrated in a manner that offers service providers a flexible, distributed IP Telephony solution for delivering managed or hosted voice services to enterprises and SMBs over broadband connections.
Distributed Training for the Modern Enterprise Enabling the Network to Support Video-Based Applicati

The personal computer has evolved from a data access tool into a communication tool. Processor speeds have improved, operating systems have become more powerful, and application developers have become more imaginative. As a result of these advances, the PC is now the cornerstone of corporate communications, reaching out to the Internet as well as e-mail, video playback, IP telephony, and even desktop video conferencing. The expanding potential of the PC has been applied in many ways, including—thanks to new applications and advanced data networks—corporate training, teaching, and collaboration.

This paper describes how to determine whether a data network is ready to run VoIP traffic well, using Vivinet Assessor.
DSQ Software - Voice over Internet Protocol
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/voip_pap.pdf
Formato: PDF
This paper discusses various aspect of VoIP, including the challenges, application areas, and the standards. The paper elaborates issues and challenges of VoIP. The key issues are providing QoS, maintaining network transparency, and providing inter-working between heterogeneous networks. The paper also talks about VoIP applications including Internet telephony, VOIP based call-centers, and trunking applications. VoIP-related standards, as defined by ITU-T and IETF are described along with the key standards H.323, MGCP/MEGACO, and SIP. Finally, the paper talks about DSQ’s VoIP offerings.
Dual Tone Multifrequency Relay for SIP Calls Using Named Telephone Events
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/ft_dtmf.pdf
Formato: PDF
The SIP NTE DTMF relay feature provides reliable digit relay between Cisco VoIP gateways when a low bandwidth codec is used. Using NTE to relay DTMF tones provides a standardized means of transporting DTMF tones in Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packets according to section 3 of RFC 2833, RTP Payload for DTMF Digits, Telephony Tones and Telephony Signals, developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Audio/Video Transport (AVT) working group. This paper describes the Dual Tone Multifrequency (DTMF) Relay for SIP Calls Using Named Telephone Events (NTE) feature in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(11)T.
Echo and Echo Control
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/echo_wp.pdf
Formato: PDF
Echo, simply stated, occurs when you hear yourself speak. Not so simply stated, echo involves many factors such as delay, your system configuration (for example: analog trunks, type of phone, speakerphones, handsets, etc.), room acoustics, levels, etc. The purpose of this white paper is to explain the various kinds of echo, discuss the products and features that exist within Avaya to reduce echo, list some ways to isolate/troubleshoot an echo source, and outline options that may reduce echo based on trouble shooting findings.
Electronic Numbering (ENUM) Management for VoIP Communications
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/09009403800937d7_White_paper.pdf
Formato: PDF
This white paper addresses how DNS is used to resolve hostnames to IP Address, leveraging existing DNS infrastructure to enable ENUM services, how a phone number is translated into an ENUM URI to complete a phone call and benefits of deploying an effective ENUM Management application. Lucent Technology, a pioneer and leader in IP address management, provides a centralized management solution that streamlines and automates the administration of ENUM domains (e.g., .e164.arpa.) and the Naming Authority Pointer (NAPTR) records for the reliable and secure management and translations necessary for VoIP communications. Lucent IP address management solutions are built for the most demanding VoIP environments to speed call routing and ensure call completion reliability with an unparalleled E.164 number resolution proficiency.
Empowering Small and Field Offices With IP Communications
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/CME_Comm_WP_v2.pdf
Formato: PDF
By adopting an IP communications solution such as Cisco CallManager Express, companies can transform their small-office and branch-office employees into a more productive, better-connected workforce while reducing network complexity and administrative costs. The solution extends the benefits of modern telephony features to workers in small or remote sites while allowing businesses to eliminate the expense of PBX/KTS leases and service providers and retain greater control of the company-wide data and communications infrastructure.
Enabling High Availability for Voice Services in Cable Networks
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/ccvs_wp.pdf

All advanced cable services place stringent requirements on the network for availability, latency, jitter, and other parameters that contribute to a user's experience. This paper focuses on the availability aspect of these requirements.
Enabling IP Trunking with Minimal IP Network Infrastructure and Multiple Redundancy Options
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/0900940380047cf9_White_paper.pdf
Formato: PDF
One of the next-generation IP services supported by the 5E-XC Optical Interface Unit (OIU) on the 5ESS Switch is packet trunking. The OIU will support TDM OC-3/STM-1 interfaces as well as Packet Over SONET/SDH (POS) OC-3c/STM-1 interfaces, allowing IP-based trunking between switches. A common concern for service providers interested in offering IP trunking will be the creation of the packet network infrastructure necessary to support IP trunking. This white paper examines 5E-XC IP trunking and requirements for the IP network. It proposes a first step for creating a router-based IP network configuration that introduces IP trunking without adding complexity, and presents a variety of possible redundancy schemes. Router products from Juniper Networks that meet the needs of the IP trunking network are also identified.

Ensuring High-Availability IP Communications in Full Service Branch and Small Offices
http://www.recursosvoip.com/docs/english/haipc_wp.pdf
Formato: PDF
This paper talks about the Cisco CallManager Survivable Remote Site Telephony solution. It allows network managers to deploy reliable IP telephony to smaller branch offices where users would not otherwise experience its many benefits. It is inexpensive, easy to deploy, and is automatically activated and deactivated. It provides essential high-availability telephony services when a Cisco CallManager cannot communicate with a smaller office because of a WAN link failure.
